I am a lifelong student of nature.
Flipping over rocks, catching frogs, fishing with my dad, collecting plants, bringing strange animals in for show and tell, watching for the geese to return every spring, picking mushrooms with my family, flower gardening with my mom…these were my inspirations as a young child.
Nature inspires my art. Biology inspires my art. I use my scientific training and skills of observation to capture the unique beauty of natural subjects in ways that can be both useful to a scientific audience and are engaging and captivating to others. I seek to weave the interconnectedness of ecology into my art, to engage my audience with nature, and to share my joy of nature through art. I hope my art is for everyone!
